This fund is the foundation of fundraising at Friends and touches every corner of our institution. It allows us to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of a Friends Seminary education. The Fund helps us retain, attract and grow inspiring teachers, enhance our academic, arts and athletics programs and provide crucial financial aid that keeps our community accessible and inclusive.

These types of gifts include wills (bequests), annuities, and trusts that pay income for life, retirement plan assets, and life insurance policies. Many of the planned gifts can help you make a larger gift to Friends than you would have thought possible.

Friends hosts a variety of celebrations throughout the year, including events like the Lunar New Year and the Benefit Auction. These events not only raise funds for essential needs, such as financial aid, curricular enhancements, and unique learning opportunities but also play a vital role in advancing the School's mission and strengthening community.

The Endowment at Friends is similar to a savings account, where donations are invested, and a portion of the earnings is spent annually. These funds help stabilize tuition, and provide essential long-term support for financial aid, faculty development and innovative learning initiatives — helping to ensure the future of the School and its mission.

Capital campaigns are centered around funding brick-and-mortar projects, such as campus redevelopment initiatives, which include capital purchases, renovations and real estate acquisitions. Capital campaigns initiatives can also raise funds to increase the School's endowment.

The Senior Gift is a time-honored tradition at Friends Seminary in which the senior class families give a collective gift to honor the graduating class and show gratitude to the School.
